PLEASE, PRESENT YOURSELVES OUR READERS... My name is richard hoak, I play drums and sing in total fucking destruction. WHAT'S ABOUT YOUR HISTORY? history is an empty black space. And we all share the same future, total fucking destruction. Total fucking destruction is the prophet and the prophecy, total fucking destruction is the future of each individual and of collective humanity. A slow motion apocalypse unfolding before our eyes. WHO DECIDED TO FOUND THE BAND? I did. Our songs are true stories of life in the modern day world. And The music encompasses the lyrics in it’s totality THE MAIN FACTS IN YOUR HISTORY... TFD is influenced by beer, girls, vodka, weed, and speed. And by fucked up daily life in the modern day military/entertainment/technology complex. Our history is a long one, with many phat spliffs smoked and many grind shows played, all over the world, crazy end of the world grind parties. WHAT'S ABOUT YOUR PREVIOUS RECODING PRODUCTION? We have made 3 recordings since 2000. this material was used for cd-r demos, comp tracks, various split 7 and other vinyl. Much of this material has been made available to the universe copyright free and has been distributed widely. I GUESS YOU MUST REALLY SATISFIED WITH THIS DEAL WITH BONES BRIGADE... Nicolas at bones brigade has been a friend for a long time. bones brigade was the obvious choice for unleashing total fucking destruction on the world. A QUICK INTRODUCTION TO 'COMPACT DISC VERSION 1.0'? All 3 of the TFD studio recordings have been remastered by scott hull of pig destroyer/agoraphobic nosebleed and collected on the bones brigade cd. There is a also a complete live set from when we opened for high on fire and mastodon here in philadelphia. Everything we have ever recorded in one cd, 60 songs or so I think? WHY SUCH TITLE? the is only the beginning, the end will take a long time. many units. YOUR ALBUM HAS A STRONG GRIND BACKGROUND... my definition of grindcore is total fucking destruction. Mostly in the live performance, but also for example in the new bones brigade discography cd. Another dimension of this definition is my view of my place on the planet and my responsibilities as a citizen of the globe and the art and music I am urged to create. WHAT'S ABOUT ITS MOOD? It’s a bad fucking mood. THE SOUND IS VERY BRUTAL ... If you want brutal, go to south east asia and clean up after the tsunami, or get a gun and go fight war for peace. This music is the opposite of brutal, the only reason such concepts like grind and death metal exist is because of the privilege and power of the corporate economy that allows the leisure time and extra income to make such noise. ! I think that’s obvious. The message is important. Sure, I like to drink vodka and eat pussy as much as the next human. However, I do try to maintain a certain amount of cerebral decorum and find that drinking myself into an alcoholic stupor really helps to eliminate nagging thoughts of civilized behavior.
