It’s only rock´n´roll, but we like it!
WHO ARE SPEEDFREAKS AS BAND MEMBERS?
Let´s start whit our drum-boy Pelle S. He’s a computer freak, love to play games in front of the screen. Big drums and big sound is his signature.
On vocals there is Tomas M. Speedfreaks own grandpa. With a great music heart he has rally no further intresses, except movies.
Peter H on the bas is the newest on this ship called Speedfreaks. With his jam background he has taken the band to a new dimension. He has also a big heart for sport.
At last but not least, Edo the great riff-maker. He’s been around from the early start of the band. Beside Speedfreaks he’s into fighting-sport, on a pretty high level.
We all has a solid heart for rock´n´roll and plays in a several number of band. From psychedelic, through punk all the way to metal.
WHEN DID YOU HAVE FOUNDED THE BAND?
Speedfreaks started in 1990. Edo and Zwonko (the first bass player) came from a war-ravaged Balkan and find there self in Sweden. With no family nearby, no home, no country, no future the only thing was to start a band…
WOULD YOU LIKE TO TALK ABOUT THE VERY FIRST BEGINNING OF BAND...
Sex, drugs and rock´n´roll. But not so much sex. And to be truly… not so much rock´n´roll. The rehearsal was like ten minute playing and two hour drinking. But these days are long gone…

You can only look in the stars (and but that I don’t meen us).
THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTS IN YOUR HISTORY?
2000 1 Nov, The first gig. 2001 7 sep, "Born a rocker, die a rocker". 2001
21 Dec, the first gig outside Sweden (DK). 2003 22 May, the first European tour (NL). 2004 8 Apr, the second European tour (B, NL, D). Summer 2006, "Out for kicks".
ANY INTRODUCTIVE WORDS ABOUT YOUR DEBUT ALBUM?
Well, we were proud then. I mean, we did a record. But now when we look back, many things could and should been done different.
YOU LOVE MIX PUNK AND ROCK'N'ROLL, RIGHT?
Hell yeah! But it’s nothing we decide to do. We’re just a couple of dudes who mix our style of playing, and it’s been just this way.
WHICH BANDS HAVE MOSTLY INFLUENCED YORU WAY TO PLAY?
Abba, Queen, LL Cool J, Michael Jackson, Boney M… No, we don’t like to compare us whit others. The beauty is in the beholders ears. Once we told a paper that we, among ten others, liked Motörhead. Then they wrote ”SP like to be Motörhead, and they are not”. We don’t want to be Motörhead.
We’re nothing like Motörhead, or any other band for that case… And who wants to be like a band whose best before date came to an end twenty years ago? If you want to hear Motörhead, you can without problematic hear them.
But, if you want to hear Cult you hear it to. Or Sham 69, Black Label, Black Sabbath or what ever you want to put in it. What do you hear???
WHAT'S ABOUT THE PRODUCTION OF ALBUM?
We didn’t have money to make it in one session. So it’s a three times production. Svein (at ”Grand Recording”) did a hell of a job. He understand us completely. At the mixing part we could just leave the studio for lunch. Than we came back he has fingered the sound just like we wanted it. We can truly recommend him!!!
ANY PARTICULAR CONCEPT CONCERNING THE ALBUM?
Not really… We just wanted to do a record that sounded like ”Oh, shit!
This band I wanna see live”.
WHAT'S THE MOOD OF IT?
”Fuck, the pub is closing. I know what to do! I got my fridge full with beer. Let´s hit it for my place and listen to Speedfreaks.”
But as I said/wrote, the beauty is in the beholders ears…
THE MOST SALIENT ASPECTS OF YOUR NEW ALBUM?
(Don’t know what the word salient meen.)
WHAT'S ABOUT THE FEEDBACK?
Few but pretty good. At least then it’s some one with some meat on the legs. We got a couple reviers from fifteen year old acne decorated inoleted in-the-right-hot-club fuckers. They got an trainee job for six month on a paper and everybody read there’s opinion like they where the almighty self. They all into Hellacopters and compare everything to them.
For fuck sake! Hellacopters plays music who go into the lists, and do it well. We play music for the underground (but we sure like to make it to the lists)! We hate those cute little fuckers that tell us what to like and think!!!
But beside that, the feedback has been good.
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR SOUND?
Don’t think we want to communicate anything. We just wanna play rock´n´roll, grab a beer and have a laugh. If you wanna join, give us a call!
TOURING PLANS?
We work on getting us a booking company (any interested, let us hear from ya). Off course we want out on the road, but we’re to lazy to make it our self, unfortunately.

THE FUTURE OF THE BAND?
It’s all up to you. Give us money and we come and play. Buy our record so we have afford to recording a new. We’re only in it for the money (clever branch to get into if money is the goal?).
