Hello Readers, I'm Sebastien, Guitarist in the band Nostradamus0014.
WHO ARE NOSTRADAMUS0014 AS BAND MEMBERS?
Nostradamus0014 is a concept before everything I think. The gathering of
musicians around a project, to experiment different music styles, keeping in mind that we are
fond of metal.
WHEN DID YOU HAVE FOUNDED THE BAND?
In 2001 if I'm not wrong. I met the others who already knew each others and
we all fell in love.
WOULD YOU LIKE TO TALK ABOUT THE VERY FIRST BEGINNING OF BAND...
It was at the singer's house, in Saint-Germain. Alexis had brought ideas,
recorded on a CD, we tried to play some of them and the week after that, we had our first
rehersal, to test the very first song.
WHAT'S ABOUT YOUR PREVIOUS RECORDING-EFFORTS?
Well... It was long and painful since we had to record the tracks at least
twice, in 2 different studios... But the story is even longer. I think we all believed
there was a curse against us !
WHAT'S ABOUT YOUR FOLLOWING?
I hope there will be concerts to play this music we like to share, because
it's full of energy. Aside from Nostradamus0014, I'll try to "feed" my musical
imagination with other experiences, and I think it's what we'll all do in order to know even more
about music, to always be able to invent new things.
THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTS IN YOUR HISTORY?
My own memories will always be the concerts we made, in small rooms with
lots of people around, moving like fools around us, or cool concers hall with other people
to enjoy (I think) music with us.
THE SOUND IS NU METAL/HARDCORE ORIENTED...DO YOU AGREE?
Yep, whatever you want. The most important thing is that the music brings
you some imagination. I hope it will.
I FEEL A GRUNGE BACKGROUND IN YOUR SOUND, RIGHT?
Hehe. That must be Kurt Ballou's work, but thinking about it, yeah, Alexis
had precise ideas about the sound we should have had. The guitars were oriented this way at
least.
WHAT'S ABOUT THE PRODUCTION OF ALBUM?
Yes, what's about it ? We loved Kurt Ballou's work on the first CD, we
weren't disappointed about this one. I love it. I'm proud of it and I hope people will like it
too.
ANY PARTICULAR CONCEPT CONCERNING THE ALBUM?
Oh yes. The concept is that we had to fight (litterally) to produce this
album... Because from the begining to the end, it was... Endless... We lost the fisrt tracks
because of people who weren't very cool with our work, and since then, we only had
problems with it all...
WHAT'S THE MOOD OF IT?
I'd say... Furious and Philosphical
THE MOST SALIENT ASPECTS OF YOUR NEW ALBUM?
There are two aspects at least in Nostradamus0014's music. It's quite
"mental" (not intellectual), and also really "light", because we had a lot of fun while we
were trying to play the songs and give them the sound and direction we wanted to.
WHAT'S ABOUT THE FEEDBACK?
For the moment, it's quite cool; all the people around me keep telling me
they really like the spirit of it, even if they're not addicted to this kind of music. So
it's really encouraging.
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR SOUND?
I think great energy, and a little stomach ache too, because generally when
you listen to this kind of music, you also drink a lot of beer and eat chips, which's
really bad for the stomach.
TOURING PLANS?
D'you have any ? hehe just kidding. Alexis'w working on it I think. Unless
he's taken the money from it and went to holidays with it.
YOUR LIFE'S PHILOSOPHY?
Stay close to the radiator, don't work too much, enjoy doing nothing and
listen to music.
THE FUTURE OF THE BAND?
Only the future will tell
