PRESENT YOURSELVES OUR READERS...
Hi, Here´s Pablo, band's vocalist. NahemaH is a band located in the Mediterranean city of Alicante and we play a kind of experimental/eclectic metal.
WHO ARE NAHEMAH AS BAND MEMBERS?
NahemaH time ago, was a six members band. Now we have the classic metal/rock line up with two guitarrists, one bassist, one vocalist and one drummer. Miguel Palazón and Rob marco as guitar players, Paco Porcel as bass player, Pablo Egido (myself) as vocalist and Jose Diego as drummer.
WHEN DID YOU HAVE FOUNDED THE BAND?
The band was founded just one decade ago....there has passed a long time since NahemaH was founded but we try to keep the essence of the group mixing new musical elements.
WOULD YOU LIKE TO TALK ABOUT THE VERY FIRST BEGINNING OF BAND...
Years ago we started playing melodic/symphonic black metal at the beginning, later, in the “Chrysalis” album our music became more progressive and later with “The Second Philosophy” that extreme and progressive music is mixed with post-rock, post-hardcore, stoner rock and electronic music.
WHAT'S ABOUT YOUR PREVIOUS RECORDING-EFFORTS?
I consider our previous releases as a part of our learning process. Older cd's were really good at their moment time ago and were well compossed but they have a little lack of experience that we have now in our new cd.
WHAT'S ABOUT YOUR FOLLOWING?
About the following we won't stop to try to innovate in metal scene because we won't stop of experimenting new sounds and new music styles. As I said before, we want to keep our essence but adding new elements with emotive melodies.
THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTS IN YOUR HISTORY?
The most important fact in our history at the moment was to sign with Lifeforce Records. We are very happy and proud of it because that will allow us to release cd's with a good infraestructure, thing super important for musicians that want to show in a good way their music. Supporting the band Moospell, composing and recording “The Second Philosophy” was really good as well.
ANY INTRODUCTIVE WORDS TO "THE SECOND PHILOSOPHY"?
“The Second Philosophy” is an introspective and reflexive album. Talks about the near past of the band...
THE SOUND IS GOTHIC AND NU METAL...
Is not exaclty that, is more abstract than generic, it would be more correct to say “dark and modern” sound.
I FELT A DEPRESSIVE ATHMOSPHERE, DO YOU AGREE?
Even you find some “happier” passages in “The Second Philosophy” the main feeling is melancholy and sometimes atmosphere becomes more depressive...In music is essential to exteriorize that kind of passional feelings.
WHAT'S ABOUT THE PRODUCTION OF ALBUM?
The album was totally recorded and produced in our city Alicante, by Rafael Alvarez (Afa). Our producer, Afa, years ago was a member of NahemaH, so he knows perfectly our musical conceptions and knows what we want in every moment because we have an special feeling with him. We think if you have good ideas is not necessary to move outside your country to produce an album.
ANY PARTICULAR CONCEPT CONCERNING THE ALBUM?
Of course...Is a new way of thinking and of conceiving music, is a release, a liberation of older loads a regeneration...
WHAT'S THE MOOD OF IT?
Optimism seen through melancholy. Walking strongly to the future but never forgetting the past...
THE MOST SALIENT ASPECTS OF YOUR NEW ALBUM?
I think is the perfect equilibrium and balance between melodies and experimentation, between metal and non metal sounds, between rock and electronic music.
WHAT'S ABOUT THE FEEDBACK?
Has been better than we espected in a beginning. We are very proud of it because “The Second Philosophy” has been highly rated in almost all the reviews we had.
It means is a good stuff. :D
WHAT DO YOU WANT TO COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR SOUND?
We want to communicate deeper feelings done music in order to provoque deeper feelings to the listener. We like to compose and to play intelligent music with subliminal messages or messages not easy to be found, sometimes this is not good to the fans because you will create extrange music, but our deeper inner feelings are not easy to recreate, as everybody's feelings.
TOURING PLANS?
At the moment we will be touring in Spain, and later we will touring in Europe. We will play in this year's edition of Progpower europe festival in Baarlo (Netherlands) next October.
YOUR LIFE'S PHILOSOPHY?
I would resume it in three words: hippism, tenacity and experimentation.
THE FUTURE OF THE BAND?
Nowadays future in music, and in life, is uncertain but we can say to the fans we will rocking for a long...hehehe
ANY LAST REMARKS?
We want to thank to the Italian audience and we hope they like our cd “The Second Philosophy” and we hope, as well, to see them in the concerts the days we put our feet on your land.
