PRESENT YOURSELVES OUR READERS... We are KIMAERA. A Symphonic doom/death metal from Lebanon. We released our debut album 'Ebony Veiled' last year. WHO ARE KIMAERA AS BAND MEMBERS? Jean-Pierre - Vocals, guitars Paul - Guitars Wissam - Bass Simon - Drums Charbel _ Keyboards Milia - Violins WHEN DID YOU HAVE FOUNDED THE BAND? I founded the band back in summer 2000. WOULD YOU LIKE TO TALK ABOUT THE VERY FIRST BEGINNING OF BAND... Sure, we started as a cover band playing mostly heavy metal classics, for bands such as Metallica, Megadeth, Judad Priest and others.. WHAT'S ABOUT YOUR PREVIOUS RECORDING-EFFORTS? We recorded one album, as I stated earlier, entitled 'Ebony Veiled', consisting of 8 tracks. The style of the album is a mixture of many, from symphonic/Atmospheric to Doom Death metal, with violins, pianos and female vocals. It was released by StygianCrypt productions from Russia. It got excellent reviews worldwide and the selling is going great! WHAT'S ABOUT YOUR FOLLOWING? The next album is being recorded at the moment.It is more Doomy than the first album with more stable grounds. It is somehow different from the first album .. THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTS IN YOUR HISTORY? We were the first lebanese band to have a worldwide release & distribution through a european label. THE SOUND IS STRONGLY INFLUECED BY THRASH METAL, DO YOU AGREE? Not at all. Actually it has nothing to do with it as far as we see it. WHAT'S ABOUT THE PRODUCTION OF ALBUM? The album was recorded at our home studio, mixed/mastered at belarus and released wordwide by StygianCrypt Productions, while we released it in Lebanon. ANY PARTICULAR CONCEPT CONCERNING THE ALBUM? Originality, composing and music wise... Combining dark genres together and get a remarkable Doomy outcome. WHAT'S THE MOOD OF IT? Dark and melancholic. WHAT'S ABOUT THE FEEDBACK? We've had great feedbacks so far for 'Ebony Veiled' .. Excellent reviews worldwide with high ratings. WHAT DO YOU WANT TO COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR SOUND? Unstability mainly, emotionally. Combining the sad and melancholic with the fast and aggressive. And reflecting the darker side of things in our sound. TOURING PLANS? None yet. We wish though but it is a bit harder for us to do. We play local gigs mostly, but we have few offers to consider to play outside lebanon, we'll see how they go. YOUR LIFE'S PHILOSOPHY? That of Buddhism's mainly. Stripping of ur egoistic nature to see things more clearly and find peace within urself.But I never managed to do that, unfortunately. THE FUTURE OF THE BAND? Keeping at doing what we do.
