:: INTERVIEW TO ETHEREAL BLUE:

PRESENT YOURSELVES OUR READERS...
"Ethereal Blue is a band that performs atmospheric Death metal music. We started playing music altogether while we were all studends at the University of Ioannina-Greece."

WHO ARE ETHEREAL BLUE AS BAND MEMBERS?
"Ethereal Blue are: Efthimis V.-vocals, Fok.S-guitars, George A.-guitars, Miltos D.-Bass guitar, Dimitris K.-drums, Akis P.-keyboards."

WHEN DID YOU HAVE FOUNDED THE BAND?
"The band was founded back in 2002."

WOULD YOU LIKE TO TALK ABOUT THE VERY FIRST BEGINNING OF BAND...
"The band found its musical chemistry quite fast I must admit. We started playing together in January 2002 and the rehearsals sounded so good that by the end of August 2002 we had composed the material that consisted our first demo cd titled "A mourning ocean...". During these first six months we had the chance to perform some live appearances that helped the band to open up new prospects."

WHAT'S ABOUT YOUR PREVIOUS RECORDING-EFFORTS?
"We managed to sign a contract and create an album having only one demo in our potential. That demo was our only recording effort till the time that our first full length circulated worldwide by Deadsun Records. The demo was gothic oriented and very melodic. We were using both male and female vocals at that time."

WHAT'S ABOUT YOUR FOLLOWING?
"We have started composing the second album for about a month now, the new songs are more complicated than the songs of Black Heart Process. We have to work a lot in order to make them sound the way we want to and at the same time we must find a record label to put it out into market. The contract with Deadsun is just for one album and we do not know if they will try to keep us by offering a new one."

THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTS IN YOUR HISTORY?
"The most important facts in our history are the circulation of Black Heart Process album in all over the world and our live guest appearances to groups like Arcturus, Rotting Christ and Septic Flesh."

COULD YOU INTRODUCE US YOUR ALBUM 'BLACK HEART PROCESS'?
"As the flyer for the advertising of the album says "Black Heart Process" is an individual apprenhension of the NWOSDM, the english gothic metal forms and the bitter aggression of the Black Metal genre within aggressive and intense but also melodic paths. I agree pretty much with this statement."

WHY DID YOU GET SIGNED BY DEADSUN RECORDS
"Our first demo A mourning Ocean received pretty good reviews from the metal media worldwide.This fact attracted some metal labels to possess Ethereal Blue in their roster, among them was Deadsun Records which finally gave us a better offer than others did, and so we signed with them. The co-operation with them is very good till now. JF rules!"

WHAT'S ABOUT THE PRODUCTION OF ALBUM?
"The recording procedure for the album was quite painful. We used four different studios to achieve the best possible result. It took us about 2 months to record, mix and master the material. We have many beautiful memories to remember from that period and the result of the whole procedure was as we expected it."

ANY PARTICULAR CONCEPT CONCERNING THE ALBUM?
"No there is no particular concept concerning the album.The lyrics concern personal experiences and points of viewing life, humanity, God, love etc.They are quite symbolic and expressed in a rather poetic way, but we believe that enyone could find oneself in these fiction(?)-states of mind and emotion."

WHAT'S THE MOOD OF IT?
"It is melancolic and nostalgic at the same time. It reminds me of the feeling I have when a person I love walks out of my life. Those times you feel sad and depressed but at the same time your ego imposes you to go on with your life. Somewhere among all these fellings you will identify your self with the mood of Black Heart Process."

THE MUSIC IS VERY SYMPHONIC ORIENTED?
"I would not say that Black heart Process is symphonic oriented, it is melodic and intense at the same time and the role of the Keys is at the backround in order to "dress up" the music. In all the album I do not think that the keys have the leading part so I cannot claim that the album is symphonic oriented."

THE MOST SALIENT ASPECTS OF YOUR NEW ALBUM?
"I think that its melodies and the pure melancoly that flows from it are the most salient aspects of the album."

WHAT'S ABOUT THE FEEDBACK?
"We have read many reviews of the album and we really have not seen any bad comments till now, actually we must admit that in some of them we have seen very flattering comments about our music. The feedback is more than encouraging and prompts us to work harder."

TOURING PLANS?
"At the moment we are touring around Greece in order to promote the material of the album. We have arranged to appear as support act to the great shows of Rotting Christ in Ioannina and Moonspell in Thessaloniki. A month ago we played in Sofia-Bulgaria in a metal Festival called Winter Storms and we are trying to arrange some gigs abroad. We will see... The touring part of the "job" is the one we like the most."

YOUR LIFE'S PHILOSOPHY?
"For me the best thing in life is to be satisfied with myself, to satisfy my mechanical ego as the title of the first track of "Black Heart Process" says. I try to be agreeable to the people that I love and through this procedure I gain to. If you ask the other members of the band I am sure they will tell you something different."

THE FUTURE OF THE BAND?
"This is really a very good question. I am sure you know that the conditions for the metal bands in southern Europe are much more difficult than for the Northern ones. The reason is that people in southern countries do not accept metal music the way they do in the north. There is no chance to see a greek metal band for instanse to be awarded with a music price in our country like you often see in Sweden and Norway or to hit the charts. The studios and the sound engeneers are not aqcuainted with the metal sound like they are in Germany. Many difficulties... One thing I know for sure is that we love what we do with the band very much and we will continue to do it no matter what. United we have a chance..."

ANY LAST REMARKS?
"Thanks to the magazine for the chance that it offers us to be better known to the metal audience in Italy. I hope you will enjoy the listening of the album."
