:: INTERVIEW TO DEATHCHAIN

PRESENT YOURSELVES OUR READERS...

"Bobby Undertaker - We are Deathchain from Finland and we play deathrash metal! Fast, brutal and aggerssive."

WHO ARE DEATHCHAIN AS BAND MEMBERS?
"Bobby Undertaker - The current line-up is founding member Corpse - guitar, Bobby Undertaker - guitar, Kassara - drums, Kuolio - bass and Rotten - Vocals."

WHEN DID YOU HAVE FOUNDED THE BAND?
"Bobby Undertaker - The band was founded in 1997 when Corpse started the band under the name of Winterwolf."

WOULD YOU LIKE TO TALK ABOUT THE VERY FIRST BEGINNING OF BAND...
"Bobby Undertaker - At first the band was more into deathmetal I guess, not so fast like now. And the name was Winterwolf back then. The line up was different in the beginning. But when Corpse moved to Kuopio the band's name changed to Deathchain and Corpse started to play only guitar. A new vocalist Rotten was found and the other band member changed too. The musical style had changed so much that the new name and a new line-up was a natural thing to do."

WHAT'S ABOUT YOUR PREVIOUS RECORDING-EFFORTS?
"Bobby Undertaker - Winterwolf released two demos until Corpse moved to our hometown Kuopio. "Death...will come your way" and "Blood for Death". When the band's name changed to Deathchain, we recorded one demo called "Poltergeist" back in 2002 and with that we got ourselves a record deal."

WHAT'S ABOUT YOUR FOLLOWING?
"Bobby Undertaker - We're going to hit the studio in June and spend the whole month in studio to record our next full lenght album."

THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTS IN YOUR HISTORY?
"Bobby Undertaker - I guess the changing point was when Corpse moved to Kuopio and started to look for new member to his band. He met me and soon after Kassara and Kuolio were on board too. Then we started to rehearse a lot. The vision of Deathchain and the upcoming musical style came to us pretty fast."

HOW DO YOU WANT TO INTRODUCE US 'DEADMEAT DISCIPLES'?
"Bobby Undertaker - Well it's our first full length album containing 9 tracks of pure deathrash metal. It's fast and aggressive. If you're into old death or thrash metal you must check us out!"

SATISFIED WITH THE WORK DONE BY DYNAMIC ARTS RECORDS?
"Bobby Undertaker - SO far they've done a good job. Even though it's not such a big label they've done everything as well they could. We are happy with their efforts."

WHAT'S ABOUT THE PRODUCTION OF ALBUM?
"Bobby Undertaker - Well we did the album here in our home town in Studio Perkele. And the engineer/producer was our old friend S.Jämsén who has done a lot of work here with the local bands. I think the album sounds great. Of course there's always something you could have done better but for a first album I think we did great. The album sound mean and eerie and aggressive and I think we were able to capture our own sound into it."

ANY PARTICULAR CONCEPT CONCERNING THE ALBUM?
"Bobby Undertaker - Actually no. The lyrics me and Corpse write deals pretty much with war and horror. Those are the two main ideas we're working on. The main thing is that the lyrics must match the music. So they're pretty old school stuff all the way."

WHAT'S THE MOOD OF IT?
"Bobby Undertaker - I think it's like a fist to your face. It sounds harsh and aggressive but when you listen to it, it makes you feel good. It's sounds more like a live-kind-of-a-thing not too much produced. It makes you wanna headbang your ass off."

THE SOUND REMINDS ME A LOT OF EARLY THRASH METAL CRUNCH OF EIGHTIES...
"Bobby Undertaker - That's right, it does. WE didn't want to over do it, if you know what I mean. There's a lot of bands who sound just the same because they fuck around too much with Pro Tools or some shit. You must be able to capture the band's own sound first. So our album is well produced and it sounds modern enough but not too modern and over produced."

WHAT'S ABOUT THE FEEDBACK?
"Bobby Undertaker - The feedback has been great so far. The most of the people seems to like it and we've received really great reviews. We didn't expect nothing much so we are surprised that we have been given such a warm welcome."

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR SOUND?
"Bobby Undertaker - We just want to sound brutal and aggressive. Like a metal band should. We want to have an unique sound."

TOURING PLANS?
"Bobby Undertaker - We're gonna do some festival shows in summer and after the album is released in autumn we're hoping to do a bigger tour here in Finland and hopefully in Europe too."

YOUR LIFE'S PHILOSOPHY?
"Bobby Undertaker - Play metal, drink beer and have fun!"

THE FUTURE OF THE BAND?
"Bobby Undertaker - We are going to make a really killer album in June and after that we're hoping to tour as much as possible. We want to see where we can go with this band."

ANY LAST REMARKS?
"Bobby Undertaker - Thanks for the support! Check out our album "Deadmeat Disciples" and hope to see your on gig sometime! For more info check out our homepage at www.deathchain.com."
