YOU
COME FROM SPAIN, RIGHT?
Yeah, north os Spain, basque country to be more exact.
PLEASE, PRESENT YOURSELVES OUR READERS...
OK, Daemonlord is formed by two guys. Me (Kepa) who is responsable of all
the music, and Egnar who is the singer.
BEFORE DEMONLORD AND NOW DAEMONLORD, WHY?
It was a problem with other hungarian Power metal band, that was using the
same name as us. They contacted me to advertise, so I decided to change
the name, i didn't want to have any problems with this matter.
WHEN DID YOU FOUND THE BAND?
The band was formed at the summer of 2000, but some of the songs from our
first demo were composed a bit before, but yeah we could say that the start
was at the summer of 2000.
WOULD YOU LIKE TO TALK ABOUT THE VERY FIRST BEGINNING OF BAND?
At first we were 2 members also, but the singer was Sixto who has recorded
our 2 demos and the first album. We released our first demo in the 2000
tittled "Unsacred Soul", then at the 2001 other demo came out "As Bastard
As God". After this we re-released the second demo as a split-cd, and then
comes our first album.
IN
WHICH WAYS HAS THE SOUND OF BAND CHANGED?
You have to know that know we have released our second album, so the ound
is heavier than the first, is a rawer sound to be exact. At the very frist
we were more influenced by the swedish death metal sound, but this influences
were disappering with the time.
THE MAIN FACTS IN YOUR HISTORY?
I think it was the possibility to record our first album, when things start
to come out really fast and good for us. Then we recorded a 7" also, that
was another goal achieved, you know, we always wanted to do a vinyl edition,
and when comes out we were reallyproud of it.
WHEN DID YOU START WORKING AT 'THE SIGN...'?
Hummm, I can't remember very well, but I think it was about November 2001.
I worked for 2 months or so with the composing and recording the album,
yeah it was something like that.
WHY A SO LONG TITLE?
This was a Sixto's history, he writes all the lyrics when he was in the
band, and he decided the tittle also, but i don't know why is was so long,
we always called "The Sign" like our first album.
THIS ALBUM IS THE FIRST PART, AND THE SECOND ONE?
The second one never come out, 'cause Sixto leaves the band, and he was
the responsable of all the concept, I coulnd't go with that, so we thought
it was time to start ina different way.
WOULD YOU LIKE TO PRESENT US THIS ALBUM?
I could present you our second albu,m, that is like we sound actually, I
could tell you that is a fucking pure blackness album with a lot of fast
parts, but some mid.-temps also. We call ourselves like: Hateful evil Blackness
of rapid Deathstruction!!
SATISFIED WITH ITS FINAL RESULT?
I think that "The Sign" could came more stronger in the sound matter. When
I recorded this stuff I used my personal computer that was a really old
one, now our sound is more compact and stronger than ever.
WHAT'S ABOUT THE WORK TO PRODUCE IT?
Like I said before I used my own PC to recorded all the stuff, so isn't
very difficult to know what we want in every release. I worked like that
for years, so isn't very hard at the moment.
THE SOUND IS VERY BRUTAL, RIGHT?
Yeah, but I think that the guitars could take more power if we recorded
the stuff some months ago with better equipment. We recorded the first album
with a Pentium 150, we have some troubles 'cause the PC wasn't fast enought
to reproduce all the tracks together.
THERE'S A DOOM TOUCH IN YOUR SOUND...
I don't think so, maybe there are some mid-temps, but not a dommy sound,
of course this is my personal view.
THE MOST SALIENT ASPECTS OF YOUR SOUND?
Fast and brutal!!
THE HIGHLIGHTS OF ALBUM?
Maybe the melodic riffs come really good, but I'm very satisfied of all
our releases.
THE FUTURE OF THE BAND?
Now we have released pour second album throgu Heaven Ablaze Records from
Australia. Then it will come out a 4 way split-cd and another 7"EP. I hope
this releases will come out for the end of the summer.
WHO ARE DAEMONLORD AS PERSONS?
People that feel the metal in their hearts! but appart from this, really
normal guys.
