PRESENT YOURSELVES OUR READERS...
we are Blood, a german death-grind band with 4 members: Clausi (31) - vocals,
Eisen (37) - guitars, Taki (37) - bass and Ventilator (38) - drums.
WHAT'S ABOUT YOUR HISTORY?
As we started the band back in 1986 no one knew how to play an instrument.
We tried to play some covers of old ThrashlDeath Metal. Later we found our
typical Blood style over the years. Since 10 years we have a stabile line-up
that helps us been a constant band and to put out cool releases frequently.
WHO DECIDED TO FOUND THE BAND?
Mc, Taki, Radtke and our fist singer Geier formed Blood just as a fun -
noise band.
THE
MAIN FACTS IN YOUR HISTORY...
In the early days of Blood we changed the singer very often: Geier (1986-1987),
Bestial Bernd (1988), Chuck (1988), Martin Chicken Witchskinner (1989-199
1 + 1993), Alex 1992-1993) and since 1994 our actual one Clausi. We made
some experiments with a second guitar player: Wenge (1991), Ruhen (1992-1993)
and after Radtke was replaced by Ventilator in 1987 we found our style of
grindcore. The biggest thing was the offer of our first record deal for
our debut LP back in 1989 of Wild Rags Records. We were total happy about
this big thing!
WHAT'S ABOUT YOUR DISCOGRAPHY?
We did 6 Demos from 1986 to 1988, LP 1989 Impulse to destroy, EP 1990 recognize
yourself, split EP with Agathocies and Impetigo 1991, LP/CD 1992 christbait,
live in Meer EP 1993, CD 1993 o agios pethane, split EP 1994 with dead infection,
CD 1994 mental conflicts, EP 1995 spittle red ofblood, CD 1996 depraved
goddess, split EP with Psycho and Mystic Circle 1997/1998, split EP 1998
with Inhume, CD 1999 gas flames bones, split EP 2000 with Warspite, EP 2001
Massacre and finally CD 2003 Dysangelium. Hope I forgot nothing ;-)
WHEN DID YOU HAVE BEEN CONTACTED BY MORBID RECORDS?
Our first contact with Morbid was back in 1994. They released our 4th CD
Mental Conlicts. In 2003 as we were ready to do a new CD Morbid was the
first label that made us an serious contract, so we did it.
A QUICK INTRODUCTION TO 'DYSANGELIUM'?
Dysangelium is another strong work against Christianity with an intro, outro
and 20 more brutal Blood songs in the typical vein. We needed 10 studio
days for this.
WHY SUCH TITLE?
Dysangelium is the opportunity of gospel. The evil message for the mankind
YOUR ALBUM HAS A STRONG GOTHIC/DOOM METAL BACKGROUND...

WHAT'S ABOUT ITS MOOD?
it's atmosphere is very darkened, especially through the female voice and
the horrormovie-like intro and outro.
THE SOUND IS VERY PLUMBER...
I don't know what you mean with this??
MORE INFOS ABOUT YOUR SOUND?
Our sound? 1 think once again the new CD is in the typical Blood-vein...
mostly fast and short deathlgrind songs. We put some samples from brutal
movies in a few songs. People have to know what they get when they buy an
Blood-Album...
WHAT'S ABOUT YOUR WAY TO WRITE?
Mostly one of us have an major idea, like a special riff, a rhythm or a
part - then we create the whole song around this part. Sometimes we are
only jamming around and if something sounds good, we use this for a song.
If a song won't be ready in one hour or so, we will drop it away. Blood
have to be spontaneous.
WHAT'S THE ROLE OF LYRICS?
Clausi writes most of our lyrics. The lyrics on dysangelium deal with the
downfall of the church, our crusade against christianity... some are about
gory horror stuff, maggots that eat your brain and stuff like that.
I FEEL AN ANGRY ATHMOSPHERE IN YOUR SOUND?
yes, that's the big hate that can be listened in our songs. You can't write
love songs in death Metal or grindcore
WOULD YOU LIKE TO TALK ABOUT THE TRACKS FEATURED IN?
The best tracks we also perform live: wormbody, a stomping song where everybody
has it's solo-part, the played intro blood-pulsation and the first song
adrenaline as the opening ceremony ofmost shows, breaking bounds as an headbanger
song
- a bit longer and strong doublebass-like and a brutal power song called
malicious awakening. Another phantastic song is the last track devil dance
with the female voice (but we can't realize this vocals live).
INTERESTED IN SPREADING MESSAGES THRU YOUR MUSIC?
not at all. We are no political band or a band that tells people how to
live and what to do. We play the kind of metal we love and to have the maximum
fun that is possible.
ANY ITALIAN TOURING PLANS?
No - in the past we had some offers for such an adventure, hut it never
becarne true - too bad, because we have lots of good friends in Italy and
especially I love this country most for holidays. Ho studiato '1 Italiano
per un anno ;-)
WHICH ARE YOUR OCCUPATIONS IN EVERYDAY LIFE?
19. do you mean, what we do everyday in our sparetime or job? Well, Taki
and Clausi works in BASF, Ventilator is a paint-master and I work in an
office. Besides the band we do things like: play football, play PC, watch
TV and movies in cinema, play games, meet friends and visit shows.
ANY LAST REMARKS?
We hope to get alive 'till the 20th anniversary of Blood (in 2006), play
some cool shows, have lots of fun and meet many many friends of us... thanxx
