:: INTERVIEW TO TANKARD - ITALIAN VERSION

Q: How did you celebrate your first twenty years of your carrer?

A: we played a gig in front over 700 people in our hometown-city frankfurt in the end of may and did a big aftershow-party with a metal disco, a lot of drinking, etc. we played over 2 hours also a lot of old stuff like mercenary.

Q: I don't know if you ever thought or did it, but wouldn't be interesting to organize a concert / party with ex Tankard members and with "The Bomber" as live performer?

A: we invited all the old tankard members, our old drummer oliver werner and our old guitar player andy bulgaropulos joined the show. Andy were playing the last part of empty tankard. We asked bomber to come on stage a couple of times, but he is too fat, sorryï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½..

Q: Why have you chosen Andy Classen for the production of your new album? How do you judge the results of his work?

A: we just wanted to try something new, because the results of disco destroyer and kings of beer were ok, but not that 100%. We are really satisfied with andy classen, it was a good teamwork and we are really satisfied with the sound, especially the guitarsound. It is still thrash metal but with a modern sound, I would say.

Q: Everytime, I amuse myself in reading your lyrics. Lot of them, I suppose, are purely fantasy, some others refer to real events. Could you do me an example

A: yeah, we always try to do a good mixture of funny and serious lyrics, because tankard I a band we don/t take ourselves too seriously. Shit-faced of the morning after-album is an example for a real event. When we entered the first time the studio to record our debut zombie attack we created some funny things like bed-diving in the hotel. This we had to leave after one week because there were too many damages!!!! Q: Although Andy Bulgaropulos doesn't play no more in the band, I appreciate the fact that he still gives his contribution. May we consider him still today the fifth member of Tankard?

A: we still have a good contact to andy, he writes lyrics for tankard aned we have a friendly relationship. It was very hard for the band when he left tankard in the beginning of 1998. it took a couple of months to fins a good new guitar playerï¿½ï¿½.but now we are really satisfied with andy gutjahr.

Q: Which is the more beautiful memory you have inside of twenty years with Tankard?

A: a really good feeling was to held the first record in my hands, that was very cool. Another great thing was to play the first rock hard open air and the thrashing east festival (both 1990) in front of more than 6000 people!!! Also our first and only japan tour in 99 was very exciting!!!!

Q: What would you like to say to those who think that the covers of your albums are more beautiful than the quality of your music?

A: I think the covers really fit to our kind of fun-thrash, we don`t have to proove that we can play!!!!! If somebody think in this way, it is his own problemï¿½ï¿½ï¿½ï¿½.

Q: Is it going to be a continuation of Tankwart project?

A: no, there are no plans at the moment, because we prefer to play our own stuff. But if somebody has a good idea, we have to think it overï¿½ï¿½ï¿½.never say no!!!!!!!

Q: How was your first Italian experience of the last year?

A: the reaction of the audience was fantastic, a really great atmosphere, we really love to come back!!!!!!!!!!

Q: Would you like to say something to your Italian fans.?

A: we hope everybody like the new album and we are really looking forward to party again with you!!!!! Drink with class!!!!!
