INTERVIEW TO GLEN EVANS FROM NUCLEAR ASSAULT - italian
version
1)
Brief us on the band history. How was it created?
Danny & John, started the band. I'm not too sure how many guitar players
they went through, but Anthony stuck. I left TT Quick after the second album
and was searching for a fresh, new style of music. I'm an aggressive drummer,
and to be honest, most of the bands I auditioned for sucked. They all wanted
to write love songs…ballads. I ran an ad in a local rag called the "East
Coast Rocker", and Anthony called me up. He drove down to my home in New
Jersey from New York, and brought a demo from the band. When I listed to
it, it was different and more aggressive than any other demo I received.
The next day we jammed in a rehearsal studio in NYC, then went out and played
about 6 shows around NY, NJ, MD, VA, etc. It was a trial run, but when we
got back to NY, we knew we had something. The band "clicked" together. They
asked me to come aboard, and that was it. We did another demo called "Live
Suffer Die" and about 6 months later we signed with Combat Records.
2)
I'm hearing that reincarnation of Nuclear Assault finally is reality.
Yes it is.
3) It's been a decade since the final release from Nuclear Assault…
what the heck's been going on since then?
We lost touch for a while. Dan did Brutal Truth, John…I think he became
a Karate instructor, and Anthony worked for the Government. I went back
to college.
4) There were some line-up changes prior to the release of "Something
Wicked". What influenced your decision to leave?
Danny split to do Brutal Truth full time. I didn't leave until the end of
the "Something Wicked" tour. It was a great tour, and I had fun. But the
party was over at that point.
5)"Something Wicked" is often looked at as a fluke by many Nuclear Assault
fans, why do you think the band decided to carry on and go a slightly different
direction musically?
Anthony was replaced by Dave Depietro, and Dave brought in Scott on Bass.
We recorded "Something Wicked". but the chemistry changed. It wasn't intentional,
but we kept playing anyway.
6)
Nuclear Assault is heralded as a highly influential band to this day. Looking
back, what did being a part of Nuclear Assault mean to you then and now?
Back then it was my dream. I gave it all I had, just like an Athlete. We
all did. It was our life. Best time of my life. Now, it's for fun. We're
not under any pressure from record labels to have to make records and tour,
and we all have separate lives.
7) Thank you! Have I forgot to ask you anything and you'd like to mention?
No. I would like to thank you for your interest in the band. It's going
to be a great year!!!
Thrash and thanx
