INTERVIEW TO SABINA CLASSEN FROM HOLY MOSES - italian

The "Holy Moses" project is born in the far 1979, thanks to your brother
Andy; do you think that your "thrash metal" could give a new "shock" (after
the return of Destruction, Nuclear Assault, Exodus, etc) in a musical scene,
which today is very different than in the 80's, even after your long period
of silence?
Yes, there was a silence from about 6 years with Holy Moses - from 1994
until 2000 - but the good site is, that Holy Moses is giving always a new
shock to the people...´cause it is hard intensive and powerful kind of thrash
with my ultra brutal voice - so we are doing our way and not thinking to
much about it.
In this period, besides your new album, we have assisted at the return
of the german thrash metal (Sodom, Kreator, Destruction, Living Death and
Tankard). According to you, does Germany confirm itself as the country,
which is not so much influenced by the modern trends, or not?
I realy have to say, that I am not so much thinking about all this stuff.
I did always my music, in the meantime without Holy Moses I was singing
for this 6 years in Temple Of The Absurd, also Sodom, Destruction and Kreator
and Tankard did their CD`s - but other bands are existing also, I think
Germany is also influenced my modern trends, but the bands, founded in the
80`th are also existing...I don`t see a problem..hahahahaha
How is your way of doing music from the beginning till today, after
these last years tormented by your serious health problems?
I did all the years the same...I was bringing into my titels the feelings
I had in my soul and heart. During the period of my health problems I think
I wrote my best lyrics ever...
How do you feel today when you go "on stage", the same than in the past?
Definitly yes - playing live and be on stage give`s me the power in my live,
which I need to recover always!
Can we consider "Disorder of the order" as a concept- album?
hahahah, yes and no.....the concept is my life in this world....the disorder
of the order is always running....
What are your personal "dark futurist visions"?
See what is going on right now in the world....see my lyrics and the comic
in the booklet, it describes totally my visions....who is Mr. Bush, who
is the US, who is Bin Laden...who is Saddam....what they wanna tell us...who
realy bombed the twin towers in the us - ... what is the real reason....a
inner us-attack to get a reason to bring the war all over the world....something
like the New Machine Of Liechtenstein...I wrote always over all the years
titles like this, and I give ideas to my fans...not a direct story, but
a kind of vision......
As far as you're concerned, is there still a good part of the audience
interested in social problems themes?
I don`t know, I do always my kind of lyrics - it`s fine if the people are
interested in but on the other side, I know that most important is the music....
From "The New Machine Of Liechtenstaein" to "Disorder Of The Order"
there's again your comic (but drawings are by Rainer Laws no more). Have
you got a particular passion for comics in general?
I am not a totally comic fan, but in my music I like to explain my words
with pictures...
To help those who know you for short time, will the reprintings of your
first albums be published.
That is a realy good question, `cause a lot of fans are writing me about
this: I can tell everybody, that I am working right now on the details to
get back all the rights to re-release the old stuff.
You are the lead-singer of a thrash-metal band; does this fact
provoke
still wonder through the people?
Now I am in the band since 1981 and I am used to it - I don`t
know how the people around me are thinking about that...hahaha
Have you got some funny episode to tell about this fact?
Oh I mean, I realy enjoy to shock the monitormixers on festivals
by doing soundcheck with my voice and most of them, don`t expect such a
voice in me....
How do you feel when you think that you are one of the few
female
singers of a thrash-metal band?
I am proud that I was the first, hahahahaha
Although the time passes, you are still a very attractive woman
(on
stage and not). Congratulations!!!
Oh thanx a lot, sex no drugs and ROCK`N Roll keeps me
alive....hhahaha
How was first Holy Moses tour date few mounths ago?
It was realy great to be back in a nightliner and tour europe in
very small clubs, it is something I realy need and I am happy that we
will have now a lot of other smaller festivals in europe.
After that we will prepare for the studio time, we are already writing
new stuff, and I heard, that we will come to Brazil during the next
period of the new album, for sure...
