Well, you’re back and now…
We have a complete new lineup. We replaced Stefan Hertrich our former
singer through Christoph Puhr –Westerheide. Stefan had to move into another
town because of work 400km far away, so he was not able to join the band
practises any more. He decided for himself to leave the band, that we can
play live after 4 years of not doing this. We are very satisfied with Christoph,
and his vocal style goes into the same corner in compare to Stefans. We
also have a new Drummer – Stefan Zandt - , Bassplayer – Martin Motnik -,
and for the first time a keyboard player – Armin Doerfler - . A lot of line
up changes. It is very important for us to have now a keyboard player for
live, so we are not dependent on a CD playback for keyboard we had before.
The next time we play a lot of live shows and at the end of the year we
will begin with writing new song, and see how it works with the new singer.
In early 2004 we hopefully will record the next album.
2. “Astral Adventure” is a very beautiful cd, a perfect mix of gothic,
metal and synth…
Thank you, that’s right. We wanted to make a good gothic metal album, and
I think we got it. It was a good step after diving into darkness.
3. What are the many difference from your last cd?
We don´t wanted to change very much, because our last album “Diving into
Darkness” was very good in our opinion. It was the first album we recorded
in our own studio, so we were very satisfied with the songs and the complete
result. The main changes on “Astral Adventures” are the female vocals which
we don´t have on Diving. We also experimented very much with the vocals.
We put some elements from the DarkWave corner, like distorting the vocals
sometimes and other things . But all in all the musicstyle don´t changed
very much.
4. You’ve write some music for computer game, how may important is this
experience for you?
Very important. It is a alternation in compare to write gothic metal, and
you can learn much about things like orchester programming, electroni?????A

his vocal style goes into the same corner in compare tocs and all synthetic
music. For myself I play often some PC games, so why not making music for
them? But the main reason doing this, is because I have to earn money ?
5. How many important are the lyrics for the band? In “Astral Adventure”
are you speaking about…
They are very important for us. We try to bring a message to our fans. The
lyrics are partly about political sights, about the humans destroying the
environment, we need ; about people who don´t come along with our society
and other sad thing.
6. You are into gothic metal scene from early ‘90th and you have see
growth it, how are the many difference? Is better now or not? There’s a
new band that we must ear?
I think the gothic metal isn’t that popular it was some years ago. The bands
existing now are realy very good, and the gothic metals evolution is also
very good, but there aren´t that much hearers like 7 years ago. It’s a sad
thing, but we can´t change it. The only thing what we can do is to make
good music and to not give up. I hope the gothic metal will come back in
the future. You have to hear Lacrimas. Our former drummer playes there,
and they make really good music.
7. You have release cd with Serenades recs. with Nuclear Blast and now
with Massacre what are the many differences of every label?
Serenades is meanwhile bankrupty. It was a very small label, our first label.
Nuclear Blast is a very huge label, in my opinion they have too much bands,
and they only do a good job for the biggest bands there, for gothic metal
its not a good label anymore. Massacre is smaller than nuclear blast and
they do more for their smaller bands in compare to Nuclear Blast. Massacre
is our actual label.
8. The album was produced from you, how many important is for a band
an external producer, and how may important is have a total control on your
music?
The most bands need an external producer, because they have to less experience
how a CD has to sound. But we don´t have an external producer like you have
written because I’ve produce????? ????? the cd ?. If you record in a other
studio with a external producer, you don´t have much of control how the
cd will sound at the end. But the bands don´t have a alternative to this
because they don´t have experience with recording and producing a CD. And
its very expensive. So I decieded some years ago to record the cd in a own
studio. So I bought equipment, learned about recording, mixing and producing.
And now we are able to record a Darkseed Album complete without any external
peoples. The first CD we have done in my studio was “ Diving into Darkness”.
9. Tours…
Nothing planed for this album, maybe for the next. But we play a lot of
single gigs.
10. Ok we have no more time, but we need some last word and a big bye
for Raw & Wild web zine readers…
