:: INTERVISTA AI BALLISTIC
- italian version
The
member of the band are famous, but not the band so please introduce us ballistic.
Ballistic came to being after i left wardog. i wanted to get a better band
together because i had allot of metal left in me. its rikard stjernquist
on drums, tim o’connor (former tension) on bass, and petio petev on lead.
petio has not been in many band but he is amazing at lead!!
After several years into the music business you have create a new band
and have begin a new adventure, why?
Well for one thing i’m not really in the music business anymore, i have
a great job that mekes me money. so i wanted to let loose and play the killer
metal that i knew i could do. this wasn’t always possible with my previous
bands, but with these guys there really is no limit to where the music can
go. they have a huge library of knowledge to draw from.
Heavy metal for life or heavy metal is your life?
Both, i mean it is such a part of me that there is no way it can be ignored.
i do have allot of other things i’m interested in but metal is always very
important because it really is the most exciting music form.
Why
a metal fan must prefer your cd? what is the winning point of your 1st release?
I think that this cd has everything that a real metalhead would want. i
know that there has been allot of big hype about some bad new albums, so
why not give this low budget, but high energy cd a try?
How is change the music, the music business and the way to play and do
music since your beginning? is better now on not?
Well its still pretty bad with all the nu-metal stuff, but boy is was worse
in the 70’s. back then metal was really in the underground, and you had
to look like hell for an album. if you didn’t live in a big city, you were
fucked. there were few american metal bands then, and none in the area i
was in. in deuce, we really felt like there was nothing like us. there were
a few, riot in new york, yesterday and today in san francisco, that was
about it.
How born a ballistic song and what are speaking your lyrics?
Its mostly me and rikard jamming the songs together, then taking it to the
two other guys where they put their parts into it. mostly the lyrics are
about this dangerous world we now live in and how all of civilization is
now being tested.
What suggestion you ca give to a new band that want start play metal?
The most important thing i can think of is don’t go into it for any other
reason than to have fun. this is not a business you want to get into for
money, believe me. you will be much more happy if you have a good job and
do music just for fun. that way it never becomes a job. do you really want
to play when you don’t want to? also write music that you believe in. the
biggest bands stay with their own style and wait for the audience to catch
up with them. if you try to follow trends it will be like trying to chase
cars, you’ll get left behind!
What is your hope about the band and the album, how magazine has spoken
of ballistic?
So far we have been #1 in soundchecks in 3 magazines that i know of (maybe
4). the fans who don’t really like this kind of metal think this cd is very
good, and fans of this kind of metal have called it a future classic (really).
i don’t know about that, but i love it, and i have never really been able
to say that. i hope that the people who this cd is for really understand
how killer it is. i know this is not a huge audience, but i don’t care.
they are important audience to me.
Tour and project for the future…
No plans yet. chances are it may take another cd to get on tour, but who
knows. we are not a really big band on metalblade, and i think there are
allot of bands before us.
Ok we have no more time, give us your last words
Ok, thanks for the opportunity to talk with you and the fans. i hope to
see you all out on tour, so check out our cd!!!
thanks!
