:: INTERVIEW TO SVEN SINGER OF ABORTED

-Ok Sven, I'm very glad to interview you!!!!!!! I'm very curious,so try to introduce your band.

Heya, thanks for the support. Well Apornted started back in 1995, when some local drunks and shitheads decided there was more in life than masturbation, so then they got a playstation, oh yeah, and started a brutal deathmetalband called Aborted. To skip alot of annoying line up changes & names of people who didn't do anything or just didn't care enough, after the split with Christ denied, we finally got into our still steady & ballbreaking line up: Sven (burps & farts), Niek & Thijs (guitarse) Frank (beating things), and Koen (doing nothing and playing bass), we then got signed with Listenable records, after threatening them to make him have anal sex with Frank, so the result turned out into engINEERING THE DEAD, our latest fullength album, and the new album, coming out in february on LISTENABLE RECORDS, we are still horny, still morons, and heading your way! so take cover!!!!

-What's happening in the band at the moment?

For the moment we're writing new material for hte upcoming fullength on Listenable, entitled: 'Goremageddon: The saw and the carnage done', which should contain 8-9 repulsive hymns of Aborted. The new stuff would be in the line of engineering, yet somehow faster, more worked out compositions, somehow more technical, catchy and less US sounding. Besides that alot of liveshows throughout europe & fauteuil masturbation.

-What does inspire your music?

A wide range from horror movies, oldschool deathmetal, new school death metal, grindcore and metal in general. To name some bands: Slayer, Suffocation, Carcass, illdiposed, entombed, Iniquity, Nile, Cryptopsy, etc etc etc all mixed up made to sound like Aborted, we have our influences, but we're not out there to sound like a copy of anything, rather to have our own sound, which i hope is working out lol.

-Talk about your influences. What do you think about present brutal grind gore underground scene?

There's alot of good bands in each scene and genre of music, it's just up to everyone to pick up what they like, bands that did really impress me lately have been Iniquity, Relevant Few and Scarve.

-So, best underground band at the moment and best band that you love.

It's impossible to name one, since i like alot of different styles of music, but you can take the above 2 as a mention for sure!

-Talk about the album "engineering the dead". Which are the difference with the firsts release?

engineering has a better sound, a more mature songwriting, more technical songs, it's more varied and faster than the first releases. It"s more extreme in any way than previous releases yet also more varied and catchy, which we will probably also say about this one when the new one gets out, haha,

-How can you define your personal evolution as musicians?

I guess we got tighter and skills have improved, and our views on composing songs change every 5 minutes, because our brains can't contain that much information, ehm, what was that question? oh yes, lubricant without a doubt!

-Sven and Aborted as person (hobbies,smoke,religious beliefs…)

Being in bands doesn't leave you with much time for hobbies, as work i do graphic design, which i also do in my free time for bands & labels around. I don't smoke, and i think religions are as interesting as Milli Vanelli.

-What do you think about italian brutal gore grind scene? Do you know somepersons in Italy?

Nefas are a pretty kick ass band, furthermore i know Giorgrio from the spew and his bunch of cool buds, Cripple bastards is also pretty cool, that's about hte only bands that i know from Italy to be honest.

-Aborted are a gore band, talk about your lyrics and how would you describe your music?

Our lyrics are based on the acts of serial killers, social behaviour, old school horror movies, fecal humour and fart jokes, our music could be described in one word: GOREMAGEDDON.

-What do you want to communicate when someone is at your show or is listening to your music?

Good dead fucking metal, with a good dose of black humour and alot of fun, hopefully, no stress, no image, no bullshit, just plain old good music & having a good time, that's all that counts!!!
