-Ok Theo, I'm very glad to get this interview with you. A big hello also from the whole staff of Raw & Wild web zine.

Hello back...Are you all horny?

-First of all, can you introduce your band?

We're Houwitser from the Netherlands and at the moment we concist of Aad: drums, Michel: guitar, Alex: guitar, Stan: vocals, Theo: Bass. In the past we had a lot of vocalist changes. We hope to have a stabil line-up this time.

-Speak about your musical inspirations, lyrics, an fovourites acts.

The old-school death metal bands influences us. We love bands like Possessed, Hellhammer/Celtic Frost, Blessed Death, Deathrow, Carnivore. But we also listen and are fans from Exhumed, Vile, Dying Fetus, Krisiun and stuff like that. We're Death fucking Metal fans and a lot of bands influenced us. Lyricly we are inspired by raping, murdering and a lot of mutilation!!!

-Houwitser is one of the best band from the european underground scene! Your opinions about this extreme music and about other bands that now hold high the banner of death metal.

Of course I love extreme music. When I'm not I shouldn't make it of course and to be honest. I'm not that interested in other bands...I'm just a fan of brutal music but I don't care about the people who are playing in these bands. I'll buy their cd's as long as they make good music !!!And I buy a goddamn lot man!

-Your band not sounds too american but still brutal as few, are the U.S. bands with a level a little bit high than European ones? Your opinion about.

I don't think so. Of course there are a lot of great American bands but the European ones are absolutely not more worse.

-Best underground brutal bands.

Pfff.. alot! Pyaemia, Corpse fucking art, Mortal Decay, Arkon Infaustus, Deeds of Flesh, Disinter, Fleshgrind....

-What do you think about italian underground scene?

I'm not that much familiar with the Italian underground but I think that you got a real healthy scene there, right?

-Do you know Italian bands?

Natron, Awful, Necrodeath, Undertakers, Nefas, Bastard Saints, Bulldozer, Mind Snare...there are more for sure but I can't remember the names at the moment.

-Do you think the death metal is a real attitude or a style of life?

I'm in the scene for more than 15 years now so it became a part of my life. I can't live without it! And I keep on doing this as long as I like it...

-How would you describe your music?

Sheer brutal Dutch Death Metal!

-What's happening in the band at the moment?

Nothing special. We're doing a lot of gigs at the moment. We're fucking busy with the promotion for the new cd!

-Speak about your final release.

It's called RAGE INSIDE THE WOMB and it contains 10 tracks of true Death metal. It's released through legendary record company Osmose productions. Check it out fuckerzzz!!!

Ciao a tutti...Siete tutti eccitati?

- Prima di tutto, vuoi introdurci la tua band?

Siamo gli Houwitser dai Paesi Bassi e al momento consistiamo in: Aad (batteria), Michael (chitarra), Alex (chitarra), Stan (voce), Theo (basso). In passato abbiamo cambiato diversi cantanti. Ora speriamo di essere arrivati alla formazione definitiva.

- Parlaci delle vostre ispirazioni musicali, delle vostre canzoni e bands preferite.

Ci influenzano soprattutto le bands della vecchia scuola death metal. Amiamo bands come Possessed, Hellhammer / Celtic Frost, Blessed Death, Deathrow, Carnivore. Ma ascoltiamo anche e siamo fans degli Exhumed, Vile, Dying Fetus, Krisiun e gruppi come questi. Siamo fans del fucking Death Metal e molti gruppi ci influenzano. Per quanto riguarda i testi, siamo ispirati dalle violenze sessuali, dagli assassinii e mutilazioni!!!

-Gli Houwitser sono una delle migliori band nello scenario underground europeo! Dicci la tua opinione sulla musica estrema e sulle bands che ora tengono alta la bandiera del death metal.

Naturalmente amo la musica estrema ma devo essere onesto. Non sono molto interessato alle altre bands... Sono solo un fan della musica brutal ma non mi curo dei musicisti che suonano in queste bands. Compro i loro cd dal momento che fanno buona musica!!! E ne compro fottutamente tanti….,man!!!!

-La tua band non ha un sound troppo americano ma ancora brutal come pochi, le bands degli U.S.A. sono ad un livello un pò più in alto di quelle europee secondo te?

Non credo. Sicuramente ci sono molte grandi bands americane ma quelle europee assolutamente non sono da meno.

- Le migliori bands brutal underground.

Pfff...Molte! Pyaemia, Corpse fucking art, Mortal Decay, Arkon Infaustus, Deeds of Flesh, Disinter, Fleshgrind...

- Cosa pensi della scena underground italiana?

Non ho molta familiarità con l'underground italiano ma penso che avrete uno scenario molto prospero lì, giusto?

- Conosci delle bands italiane?

Natron, Awful, Necrodeath, Undertakers, Nefas, Bastards Saints, Bulldozer, Mind Snare...Ne conosco molte altre ma al momento non mi vengono.

- Pensi che il death metal sia un atteggiamento o proprio uno stile di vita?

Sono sulla scena da più di 15 anni quindi è una parte della mia vita. Non potrei vivere senza! E continuerò a suonarlo finchè mi piacerà...

- Come potresti descriverci la tua musica?

- Cosa stai preparando al momemto con la band?

Niente di speciale. Stiamo facendo alcuni lavoretti per il momento. Siamo maledettamente occupati con la promozione del nuovo cd!

- Parlaci del vostro ultimo disco.

Si chiama "Rage inside the womb" e contiene 10 tracks di puro death metal. E' stato prodotto grazie alla leggendaria casa discografica Osmose productions. Controlla stronzooooo!!!
